Dog Heart is an alt-folk EP about the long process of becoming yourself.
This is the third EP from Douglas, one of the most quietly singular voices working today at the intersection of indie folk and the American theatrical canon. Her literary, surrealist approach to alt pop/folk evokes artists like Mitski, Phoebe Bridgers, and Florence + the Machine.
Her listener base has been quietly and steadily growing (~10K monthly listeners, with top tracks clearing 400-500K streams each), and this new EP is the next chapter: a collection of songs that ask what it means to belong to a time and place that no longer exists - and what we carry forward when it doesn't.
Dog Heart was lead produced by PigPen Theatre’s Ryan Melia, who recently wrapped his Broadway show Water for Elephants.
